“Inflection Point" draws inspiration from Greek mythology and incorporates several symbolic elements into its composition. Most notably, it brings the story of Icarus into focus. The subject’s body twists into the legs of Sisyphus, placing them at the painful intersection of these two myths. Icarus, who flew too close to the sun and melted his wings, represents a mythological caution against excess and pride. In contrast, Sisyphus’s tale, with its endless struggle, symbolizes the hedonistic treadmill that humanity perpetually endures. This juxtaposition—struggling to reach higher states of being while avoiding the pitfalls of overreaching—serves as a poignant metaphor for the modern human condition. The subject, constrained within a literal frame, highlights this ongoing suffering. As for the skull, the mountains, and the tree, I reserve my right to leave the interpretation ambiguous.
